Outwith our usual subject but we feel passionate about this so had to make a post! We’re not saying the NHS is prefect but it really is incredible that you can walk into a Doctors or Dentist and receive medical attention when you need it. We love the NHS!

eBay Scam

Scammers will try everything and as I know a client has previously been a victim of a eBay scam I thought it best to publish this one.

Subject: New Unpaid Item Message from milanesjr - 170349230798
Date: 20 August 2009 21:27:52 BST
Reply-To: support @ e-buy .co.uk

Dear member,
eBay member milanesjr has left you a message regarding item #170349230798
Response required!

eBay Inc.

If you look properly at the email header you will see the message is from e-Buy.co.uk , if you click on the link in the email it will take you to a page the looks just like ebay and invites you to log into your account. Do not enter your ebay account details into this site. This is not related to ebay in any way and will give thieves access to your account. The website address is in fact www. eaay.co.uk

Be aware do not respond to these emails.

A conversation with my sister last night about how to send out press releases made me release that it is really important and perhaps not widely known how to go about it.

So the main thing is not to spam editors or bloggers. They receive a hell of a lot of emails and your correspondence will not take priority if you don’t know them personally. In the world of infinite communication its still about who you know.

So you can use channels of communication that are already open to you eg your blog, twitter, linked in etc.

And then you can use specific press release web sites that will be read by those who are interested in your niche. Here is a selection of Free and Paid for Press Release web sites that will help you get your message out there.
