HMRC Scam
Thursday, July 23, 2009
My fabulous accountants defacto-fd have just sent this warning. I haven’t received this scam myself as yet - however be vigilant!
Please be aware that there are a number of scam e-mails being sent at the moment, which appear to come from HMRC. They will say that you are due a tax refund and that to claim this you should either click on a link and fill in your bank details or fill in an attached form and e-mail it to them.
The e-mails appear to come from a valid HMRC e-mail address and may also contain a valid HMRC contact address and phone number.
These are scam e-mails sent by fraudsters and are designed to gather your bank details and enough security information to allow them to access your bank accounts.
HMRC does not ever send e-mails to individuals or businesses asking them for their bank details.
If you receive an e-mail of this nature please do not respond to it. If you have already responded to one you should contact your bank immediately to make sure there has been no fraudulent activity on your account, and to ask them what your next steps should be.

Launching Marks Works
Tuesday, May 26, 2009
The fabulous new web site for writer and author Graham Marks has been launched! We had such fun developing this site. deFreeze came up with a series of ideas for the design of this site. One of which was using a laptop computer screen to display the content of the site. Graham emailed back straight away with an image of his desk with his laptop as center stage! An image he took to send us and give us an idea of what he was after. Clearly we were both on the same page!
